A few thoughts from today:

*How in the world do you dress for sum-fall? It's still way too hot out but I want so badly to dress for fall already and break out the richer colors, comfy cardis and ankle boots! *So excited for Disneyland in a couple weeks with other mommy friends. I'm totally not a part of the Disney obsessed but I love a reason to get dressed up and since we are dressing as Disney characters, I might as well have fun with it. Turning myself into Pocahontas for the night. It's time for a Pow Wow!

*It's back to square one with house hunting. A few nights ago, we backed out of escrow from the house we put an offer in. Honestly, I'm relieved after finding so many repairs that need to be done during the home inspection. I just don't want to sign a billion more papers!

*I need to take more power naps. Enough said.

*After breaking down at women's bible study today, I thought about the fruits of my labor being put into my sweet, ever growing son. I broke down because while there were several other women with kids playing in the house, my son seemed to be the only one getting on top of tables, banging on tin toys (loudly), eating other peoples food, hitting others with paint rollers and sticking toys in the toilet. After trying to discipline him over and over and still not getting anywhere with soothing his actions, I took him into the other room, closed the door and sobbed as he looked at me with his compassionate eyes. His strong will is overbearing most days and it certainly doesn't make motherhood easy.
As I think about these past (almost) 2 years of being a mom, it's been a struggle but I know that the fruits of my bearing, the results of my call to motherhood won't be all for nothing. I'm learning everyday and will appreciate every moment-even the hard ones. If you are a mother, remember this and cling to this. Raise your child(ren) in the way they should go and let God handle the rest.

What has been on your mind today?

There always seems to be a new color each season that I am instantly attracted to and this Fall, it is definitely {burnt orange}. It just seems to captivate the essence of the season and makes me think of the cooler season, the crisp air, and for some reason...I then want my favorite hot drink at Starbucks-{hot soy chai. no water. 2 pumps chai. 1 pump vanilla. no foam. light whip cream. thank you very much.} I love the little details of this color and the not so little details of this color.

What is your favorite color this Fall?

I was recently asked to create some accessories for a photoshoot with the theme of feathers and "Light vs Dark." My friend Kayla of Kayla V Photography is the mastermind behind these beautiful photos! I love how this concept turned out and Amanda Child was the perfect model for this look and Melanie Honeyblossom did an amazing job with the makeup!

I had so much fun creating pieces with feathers and using other items such as vintage buttons for the rings. :) All accessories but the white headband were handmade in my craft room and I'm so happy to see them in these awesome photos!

So this is the first of many more posts to come with Love Sparkle Pretty.

My creativity has run wild ever since planning mine and my husband's Aug. 6, 2010 wedding. With just about an entire DIY wedding and planning such a big event, I feel as if creating & designing has become much more than a task-it has become something that I actually fell in love with!

My inspiration comes from just about anywhere: beautiful photography including that of weddings and other events, DIY projects posted by many other "right side of brain thinkers," clothing {especially dresses!!} and accessories, magazines, antique shops {love! love!} home improvement galleries, and sometimes I draw the best of my projects from my own ideas & thoughts.

Where it all started:Our wedding day was one of the best days & most memorable days of my life :)

Planning it on the other hand, was one of the most stressful times as I recall with 8 months to plan, little money, and on top of it-going to school full time and working! Sometimes I don't even know how I managed to do it all!! Without the help of a few very important people, I don't think I would have completed everything that I had wanted to and stayed moderately sane through it all! Lol

Looking back though, the experience gave me something that I don't think I would have really realized if I hadn't done all of it myself--and that's the new found love of creative designing :)From flower hair pieces to boutonnieres, necklaces to bouquets, centerpieces to banners, candy buffet table to painting a sailboat, creating moss initials to painting a wedding sign, invitations to the creative response display....the list goes on and on...and on!!!

Our cake topper was a pair of kissing blue birds with our initials in them:)
