I'm going nude (a nap time mani, new custom order + wedding course update)

The past few days after leaving the hospital from baby Blayze's birth, I've had the stomach flu. I first thought it was food poisoning from the hospital's cafeteria but after my husband came down with it only a few hours after being home, I knew differently. Needless to say, I was in bed all weekend and got a bit behind on a few things.
I am now feeling fully recovered and have been able to knock out quite a bit of things-like a new mani! Here's to nap time manicures with quick drying polish! I am loving the nude color. Simple, natural and hey, it goes with everything!

Polish: NYC-Fashion Safari

I have also caught up on most of my orders and sent out several handmade pretties including this completely custom order. This Canada bride is the sweetest ever and I'm her very first Etsy order (I still remember my first Etsy purchase)! I am so thankful and honored that I was able to work with her.
I created boutonnieres for the guys, corsage pins for the ladies and hair clips for her bridesmaids. I also include a little gift for her since the pieces were for everyone else.
So, I realized after I sent her package off, I didn't take a photo of the 6 boutonnieres all finished! This is all I have (the one on the right isn't 100% complete). There were 5 navy wrapped bouts and one white bout.
Since I want the gift to be a surprise for the bride, I will share what I made her in a later post. ;)

It has been a while since I've shared any updates from the Wedding/Event Planning course that I'm taking but that may be because I haven't really put too much time into it. I have been coordinating a wedding for the past few months amongst lots of other events and projects. Since the wedding was at the end of June, I dived right back into my studies and finished Unit 3 (finally)!
This Unit was all about the photographers, DJs, live music, flowers, honeymoons and travel. Since I've worked with photographers several times whether it be with styled shoots, weddings or other types of collaborations, lesson 10 was my favorite to read because I was really familiar with the content and I absolutely admire photography.
If you want to cut the costs of your wedding day, DON'T do it with your photography! Those photos will be all that you have to look back on from your big day. There had been countless times that brides have regretted their decision with the photographer(s) or lack thereof. Find someone that you are comfortable with and really love their work because those photos will be your treasures from that special day.
As far as honeymoons go, bridal consultants don't get too involved but it was fun learning about different places to travel and when. Did you know that when it is summer time here in the U.S., it is winter time south of the equator and vice versa? Good thing to know if you are getting married in July and are thinking about going to Tahiti or Bora Bora for your honeymoon. Maybe a second thought?
Unit 4 is up next! I'm about half way done!
If you're a bride or have been a bride, what's the first thing you bought/booked for your wedding day?
I think mine was the venue then the dress...

MANI Monday {Color changing polish & RELAXING by the pool}

Last week, some friends and family of mine drove to La Cresta to visit my aunt and have some relaxing time....& that we did! :)
While there, we had some lunch, layed out by the pool, painted our nails, layed out on the couch, watched some T.V., ate some cupcakes, read some magazines, & just vegged.
It was a good day! :)
Once I saw this awesome color changing polish that my aunt had, I HAD to try it!
I swear it's magic! lol
While inside, it's a glittery gold color & while outside, it turnes to a sparkley red/pink color.

Cool right?
It's from Del Sol & she said that she purchased it from Rite Aid (I will be on the hunt for it.)

{Relaxing by the pool--in the sun}
& speaking of relaxing, the babes were passed out!

{Manicure Monday}--Summertime Celebration

Today, I used Wet n Wild nail polish for my manicure.
They have super cute new colors & the polish is super affordable!
I just went into Walgreen's and they were buy 2 get 1 FREE! Can't beat that! :)

The colors I'm wearing are:
I need a Refresh-Mint
& Party of Five Sparkles

I love the combination of these polishes because they remind me of a mermaid and seeing how the first day of Summer was just a couple days ago, it seemed pretty appropriate.

What are your favorite colors of polish this Summer?

{I'm BAAACK!}--Recap with a Confession + a Prayer Request

It was so good to be able to take a break from my blog and a break from taking new orders in the shop. I was tempted several times to post though--but I would tell myself otherwise and did pretty good!
I took a break for several reasons (you can read more about why below) and I feel better enough now that I was able to just take a step back and give myself some breathing room. I'm excited to start creating new items (several are already on their way to be added to the shop soon) & some new posts!

Want to know what I have been up to this whole time?
Here's a little recap of these past couple weeks! :)

I helped a friend host her adorable baby shower for her little Julia--on her way next month! She did a little birdie theme and it came out so darn cute! Here are some photos of the decor which most was DIY.

You may remember these cupcake towers from my post last month.
 Click here to make your very own! :)

The fabric chandelier I made for Julia's room was also hung at the shower.
With lots of cutting of various fabrics & tying to an embroidery hoop, it's fairly easy to make! :)

Everything turned out so beautifully Megan and I can't wait to meet Julia!
She will be beautiful-inside and out just like her mommy. :)

~~~~~~~~~~
I also gave myself a little manicure while on my break.
I used Need a Refresh-Mint by Wet N Wild & I added rose gold glitter to the tips.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The babies also got together... Cousins Emilee and Levi and BFF Laila.

While my husband caught up on some yard work...I caught up on some relaxing...

I also caught up on
* learning how to crochet
* made some tamales with the family
* saw a movie with the husband--at the theater
* went swimming at my mom's house
* studied a bit for my upcoming math test before NP1
* started our new bible study for every Tuesday night

Not only did I catch up on some relaxing and spending some much needed time with my family, I also visited the Dr. and found out some news that made me realize why I was feeling the way I did. I had been going through a lot--stressing over school, getting several rushed orders done, still adjusting to being at home and working on my "domestic abilities," being a mommy and the errands and places to be in between. I had been feeling really tired and run down and completely NOT like myself (which is why this little break was much needed)! When I visited the Dr. this past week, I found out that I have severe hypothyroidism which explains why I have been feeling the way I do. For anyone who has not been through this, it changes SO MUCH about your body--physically and emotionally and it is NOT fun.
{You can read more about what it is here}
I am now on my way to feeling better--soon hopefully. I would like to ask if you could keep me in your prayers as I go through treatment.

**On top of that, I also have a confession:
I found my first gray hair!!!
I'm not sure that a girl (a young one at that) should be admitting this but it freaked me out! It took me a while to decide whether or not I should leave it or pull it out but I finally decided to pull it out and I'm hoping that "7 won't come to it's funeral!"
Anyone else have this problem?

On a happier note, I ended my break yesterday with a trip to the beach with my husband, our son (his first trip to the beach!), & our good friends Ian, Megan, and their adorable 2-year old Caleb. Here are some photos of the amazing and super fun day that we had...not to mention all of the crazy conversations we had--we will keep those to ourselves! lol

These photos are from "The Top of the World" in Laguna Beach.
It was really cold but soo pretty & gorgeous to say the least!

This verse is on my heart and has helped me and will continue to help me get through the times where I just feel overwhelmed and run down.
I hope this may be a reminder to you as well throughout your day.

Self Portrait Saturday + Mani Monday...ummm I don't know what day it is!

Today is Self Portrait Saturday
& originally, I wasn't going to even post today seeing how I have LOTS to do but somehow in the middle of studying, I found myself painting my nails and then posing with a teacup...
YES! A darn teacup!
::sigh::
I DON'T KNOW!

Anywho, here it is, my self portraits for the day & my "Mani Monday"...a little early. :)

Dana from Wonder Forest said that there was no theme for today's post but if we wanted to do "something white" for the theme, well then it was our choice...hence a WHITE tea cup! {GENIUS--I know!} ::total sarcasm::

I used "Feeling Great" by SinfulColors Professional nail polish
and added some pretty spring fabric to my "ring fingers."
It's very "cheery" I must say :)

That's all for today!
Don't forget to link up and join the fun.

{Mani Monday} Link Up Party!

Today is {Mani Monday}
& this is my first time painting my nails since having my son about 5 months ago!
Having a little guy makes it MUCH harder to actually paint my nails and if I could, getting them to dry is a whole other dilemma! lol
Somehow though, I was able to finally get my nails painted...
& WITH my son at home! I had to take couple a "breaks"...but call me super mom I guess. :D
The polish I used was
 Rimmel's Lasting Finish PRO in
Stiletto
Red
I love the classic red polish so it was an easy "go-to" for me.
This polish does last for a long time too and it drys FAST!
{Perfect} for a mom on the go!
I also added red rhinestones that I purchased at Joann's for $2.49 for 200 pieces.
Pretty decent--I think.
I used E-6000 to glue them onto my nail...maybe not the best because this crafting glue is not for the body but it was either that or hot glue...so I made it work! Haha

Here's some of my "manicure model poses" with my webcam. Not the best, but I had fun :)
I'm so proud of myself for FINALLY getting to paint my nails!!!

{Have a BEAUTIFUL day!}
