{Sweet} engagement photos featuring {NATALIE}--the purple dahlia :)

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure to create 3 pieces for a lovely bride-to-be, Laura. {Blog post: here}
I was so excited to create these pieces for her and even more excited when I received a message from her this morning that included photos from her engagement shoot wearing {NATALIE}!!

{NATALIE is a purple dahlia with different hues of purple marabou feathers and an incredible sparkling brooch for the center}

Here are just some of the GORGEOUS photos from Laura's engagement shoot! So pretty and they look so incredibly happy together! Thank you again Laura and I wish you and your soon-to-be hubby the very best! :)

Corinne & Violet! Two NEW Additions for Saturday!

This Saturday is the big craft show event that I will be a part of in Helendale! It crept up on me so fast and now I am scrambling to create new hair pieces while still finishing orders I received on etsy! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it...I just wish I wasn't such a procrastinator at times! :D

Well, I have managed to create about 15 new pieces for the craft show on top of my usual pieces and I wanted to share 2 new additions that will be available this Saturday! Here they are!

{Enjoy}

{Corinne}
This lovely piece was created using large burgundy purple peony petals, black marabou feathers, sparkley black leaves, and a large black sparkler brooch for the center.

{Violet}

I created this piece with deep violet chrysanthemum petals (hence the name), black and white spotted guinea feathers, black marabou feathers, black sparkley leaves, and a pearl brooch for the center.

I love these two deep purple hair pieces and I can't wait to add them to the collection on Saturday! Also, there are lots more new additions to be shared (including my new pieces-"the petites") so keep an eye out for new posts! :)

You are my SUNSHINE

One of the many projects I have set out to create for our little man's nursery is the "You are my Sunshine" frame on the wall where the rocking chair will go. I have always loved the chorus lyrics to the song--"You are my Sunshine" and ever since I found out that my husband & I are expecting, I have hummed the tune to our little baby numerous times.

After finding an amazing frame from the local antique and vintage shop, it took me a couple of days to finish this project & I am really excited and happy with it! :)

This was the frame that my husband & I found before anything was done to it...

I started by painting the frame "antique white" shabby chic.

Then, I found some light green and yellow striped fabric for the background of the frame and started painting away! I painted completely freehanded (no rulers, stencils, etc.) with just the frame laying on top of the fabric so I could get everything as centered as possible.

Once I finished painting the lyrics, I added some color to the inside of the words I left outlined. Then, I attached the fabric to the back of the frame & cut the extra fabric off.

& here's the finished project after my amazing husband put it up on the wall :) (excuse the little mess in the room...we are still organizing)

There's still the fabric leaves I have to finish making for the tree painted on the wall where the crib will go...about 45 more leaves to make and a post will be up about that project! :D

Why I love what I do even more :)

Of course I love creating new pieces but I especially love when they mean so much to someone else :) I feel so incredibly blessed when I get so much positive feedback and such kind words from people I created pieces for. Here are just a few responses I have received and these are what keep me extra happy and inspired! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your life in some way whether it's within a small flower hairpiece that makes you feel extra pretty for the day or letting me be a part of one of the most special days of your life within a creation made with love! :)

A Christmas inspired piece!

It's another perfect crafting morning that must come to an end due to errands before I head off to work all day. {sad}
I woke up at 6:30am and to start, I finished painting an antique frame which I will use in the nursery on the wall {pictures will soon be up!}. Then, I finished the flower to a bridal hairpiece & now all that is left of this custom order is the detachable birdcage veil! :)
Finally, I created the first Christmas inspired flower hairpiece which will be for sale at the craft show on the 15th! {I need to get crankin' on these hairpieces! Only 11 more days!!!}

Here is the finished piece! Anyone have a good name for it? :)
{Enjoy}

To create this unique piece, I used small ivory peony petals, deep burgundy hydrangea petals, light green hydrangea petals, small burgundy ranunculus petals, a few white winter berries, an ivory skeleton leaf, a crystal rhinestone made in Germany, and a WHOLE LOT of {lOvE}.

{Have a lovely day!}

Praise the Lord, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom.

A new etsy order + a sneak peek!

It's a beautiful Sunday morning with a hot cup of camomile tea as I get ready for work. :)
Last night I finished an order that will be shipped out tomorrow morning to the lovely state of New York (I wanna visit NY so badly! One day...). These pieces are for an engagement shoot and I'm so excited to be apart of it in some way!

Here are the pieces.
{Enjoy}

The order was for:
{NATALIE} which is the purple dahlia
{TIFFANY} the lace and chiffon ivory magnolia
& {COUNTRY CHIC} which is the peach flower with bits of floral fabric

:)

Also, here is a sneak peek of a completely custom and unique hairpiece I am creating for a bride in San Jose, Ca. It definitely isn't done {still have lots of details to add including a full bird-cage veil that covers the eyes} but it's well on it's way!! It's official post will be within a week! :)

Have a beautiful day!!
